How to Grow Your Business

Research shows that 45% of new businesses fail within the first five years of their existence. One of the many reasons for this is an inability to establish a steady stream of customers.

That begs the question: how do you grow your business to ensure that you’re getting new customers on a regular basis? We’re going to dive into that question below.

Here is how to establish consistent business growth.

Be Great to Customers

First and foremost, you need to be great to customers. The better you are to your existing customers, the more likely it is that they will do business with you in the future.

Maintaining a loyal base of customers will provide a foundation upon which you can grow. Without that foundation, you’ll always be treading water, and will struggle to increase profits.

Pursue Several Marketing Streams

Perhaps the most important component of company growth is marketing. Good marketing can sell a bad product. And if the product is good itself, good marketing can turn a company into a massive success.

There is a lot that goes into good marketing. However, one of the first things to do is to pursue several marketing streams.

Don’t stick solely to social media or to radio ads. Use social media, radio ads, TV ads, print ads, guerilla marketing tactics, search engine marketing, and more.

Create a Business Plan

Our next piece of advice is to create a business plan. This will serve as a guide for your business and will help to keep you on track through hard times.

Make Sure That the Product or Service is of High Quality

If you’re selling a bad product or service, you’re not going to get far. You might be able to dupe a few people initially, but the public will eventually catch on. Therefore, it’s imperative that your product or service is of high quality.

Sure, you could save a few dollars by choosing a cheaper manufacturer for your products. However, that’s likely going to result in a worse product. And when consumers realize that your product isn’t up to snuff, they’ll turn to another company, thereby negating any savings that you initially made.

Be Open to Change

The world is an ever-changing place. This is particularly true with the influence of the internet and social media. Therefore, if you want your small business to succeed, you have to be open to change and adapt to it.

This might mean adding new features to your products. It might mean marketing yourself in a different way. It might mean using new technologies.

The point is to roll with the changes instead of fighting against them.

Business Growth Is About Consistency

Market yourself consistently, provide a quality product or service consistently, and be consistent in your customer service, and you’ll almost surely grow.
