Huawei Watch 3 Review

Huawei Watch 3, as the name suggests itself, is the third major smartwatch launched by Huawei in 2021. Huawei is known for its elegant design watches and it created much hype back in 2015 when the company was said to have collaborated with a prominent wrist watch designer. As a result, the company released its new product fulfilling the expectations to some extent.

PROS

Firstly, talking about appearance, Huawei watch 3 has completely earned five stars from us. If you are looking for a smartwatch with a classic appearance then you can opt for Huawei watch 3. Bracketed between 22-millimeter lugs along with 46-millimetre casing and 5 ATM (atmosphere) water-resistant, the watch is made from polished stainless steel that blends into a ceramic cap on the back. The front side of the watch comes with a modish rotating crown surrounding a gorgeous rounded screen of 1.4 inch AMOLED having 1000 NIT peak brightness that works even under bright sunlight.

The watch is made from a titanium frame and a sapphire crystal. Huawei Watch 3 serves you with both professional as well as casual looks. The watch gives you more than 30 options to choose from pre-loaded watch faces choosing your look of the day. Its modest design makes it lightweight with about 54 grams. One of the features that make it slightly different from other smartwatches is the display of the Huawei Watch 3 gets one more lovely shot in the arm from the domed glass crystal over the top whose curves help in making the swipe touch through the software much more pleasant than the sheer-sided glass on the other watches.

With a wrist size of about 140-210 mm, Huawei watches 3 consists of sensor features like an acceleration sensor, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, Barometric pressure sensor, and Ambient light sensor. Even though this smartwatch gives a smooth screen touch experience, another good part of Huawei’s 3 is that you always don’t have to touch the screen for everything. The watch has an active digital crown on the side placed on the two O’clock position that makes the product easy to avoid accidental activation on the bending of the wrist. And unlike other normal smartwatches, the active crown can be used for everything from settings to scrolling lists. The watch also has another function pusher at the four O’clock position through which you can map to any app you like.

The software of the Huawei watch complements the watch’s excellent hardware with a degree of thoughtful polish which was not found on Huawei’s previous watches. This might be because of the fact that this time the company has used an operating system of its own that is called HarmonyOS 2. Though it can also work on Android v6.0. This gives the watch the advantage of running on third-party apps to some extent. It can send and receive both calls and messages independently of a phone device thanks to an eSIM technology. It can also leverage its custom processor in 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal ROM to elevate the interface with tiny touches.

The watch also consists of features of a fitness band as a given. It can measure the rate of your heartbeat as well as skin temperature. You can keep track of your blood oxygen, calories intake burned, steps count, distance traveled, and even sleep quality.

The watch comes with additional straps that you can swap with leather or silicone straps as you may like to change the look from time to time. The watch facilitates wireless charging but still needs a charger with a charging cable which is provided by the company.
