  • Chlorine Bleach: Another way to make your tap water safe for consumption, is by using chlorine bleach. This will give you chlorinated water that is safe. Using chlorine bleach is actually very straightforward. Simply put eight drops of chlorine into 16 cups of water. Stir it well and leave it to sit. After 30 minutes, the water will be safe for consumption. Chlorine bleach can also be used for water coolers where you store water. Simply add one teaspoon of bleach into four cups of water to make a solution. Pour the solution into the water cooler and shake it around. Leave it for thirty seconds, before rinsing out the cooler with clean water. 
  • Water Filter: Water filters are also very reliable when it comes to ensuring tap water safety. To use a water filter, read the manufacturer’s instructions and follow the steps to the letter. Other alternatives available to you include using an ultraviolet light water purifier and using iodine.
