5 Epic Escape Room Themes that Will Blow Your Friends’ Minds

There are now over 2,000 escape rooms in America. In 2014, there were just 22.

Our love for escape rooms is evident but if you’ve done one, you’ve done them all, surely?

This is definitely not the case! Transport your friends to a whole new world with the right escape room storylines. Check out these five epic escape room themes.

1. Escape a Kidnapping

This Escape Room at Breakout Games in DC begins with you waking up handcuffed and blindfolded.

You then have to spend the next hour on your side, working to free yourself. Once your time is up, you’ll face the kidnapper who comes back…

2. Run Away from Cannibals

In an escape room in Los Angeles, you can live out your worst nightmare. You and your friends will be hooded and led into a cage.

Your hoods are removed and then you begin trying to escape the prison of a cannibal.

If you’re faint-hearted, this escape room is definitely not for you. You only have 45 minutes to escape before the cannibal comes for you.

3. Get Out of Debt in The Hustler Escape Room

Trapology is an escape room business in Boston which offers multiple different rooms. It’s very different from running away from cannibals and can be done with friends or even colleagues. (The company offers “team building” escape rooms.)

A safe, yet certainly very cool, escape room is The Hustler. Your team will be split into two and you’ll be working to get yourself out of gambling debt and escape the triads.

If this isn’t to your taste, choose a different escape room from the company’s website.

You can choose your difficulty level and put your college degree to good use! But, if you’re new to escape rooms, try something which is a little easier so you feel more accomplished.

4. Sherlocked!

Unsurprisingly, Sherlock is a popular escape room theme as the detective was always relying on his wits to spot clues in a case. Much like you will have to do at the Sherlocked Mystery Experiences in Amsterdam.

Check out The Vault escape room. You’ll have 90 minutes to break into a vault and steal an object from a safe. If you get stuck, you can call on the henchman for help.

This escape room is for those who hate being claustrophobic or scared as the company promises you’ll feel neither.

5. Escape the Narco Room

Always wondered what it’s like to escape from a drug lord? Live out this fantasy in safety by visiting a themed escape room.

This escape room company has many experiences across the US. But, arguably its best theme is Narco.

The company recommends that no-one participates under the age of fifteen…

Which are Your Favorite Escape Room Themes?

When choosing escape room themes, it’s important to do your research. You don’t want to get halfway through a challenge, only to give up.

You also don’t want your friend to pass out because of the pressure of facing a kidnapper…

When you’re all booked in and ready to go, make sure you get a good’s night sleep so you can think clearly on the day!
