3 Vacation Trips That Don’t Involve Going Abroad

3 Vacation Trips

Compared to traveling within your home country, heading abroad is much more complex. It’s also much more expensive and stressful to plan a vacation abroad.

If you want to travel more while avoiding the complexities of vacationing in a foreign country, there is plenty that you can do without crossing any borders. Despite popular belief, you don’t need to get on a plane to enjoy a great vacation!

In this article, we’re going to give you three great vacation trip ideas that don’t involve going abroad. Whether you’re heading for a long winter weekend away or spending a couple of weeks traveling during summer, give these ideas a go.

Go On a Camping Trip

Every country has at least a few great areas for camping trips. Whether it’s a forest-filled landscape or a large national park, you’ll be able to find the perfect area to spend a few days away from home.

You have two options when it comes to camping. The first option is to find a camping site that has amenities nearby. This is a suitable choice if you’re new to camping and want to be close to a town or city.

The second option is camping in a remote location, such as in the middle of a forest or up a mountain. If you’re an expert camper, you’ll love spending time away from the hustle and bustle of the world.

If you’ve never been camping before, you’ll need to do plenty of research to make sure you don’t forget any of the essentials. You’ll need a portable generator in case of any power outages and a portable stove to cook your evening meals.

You’ll also need to pack a torch, plenty of warm blankets, waterproof clothes, wellies, and snacks to eat on the go.

Visit Distant Family Members

If you have family members that live a fair distance away from you but they’re in the same country, consider paying them a visit. Get in touch with them and arrange a week or two to stay at their home and catch up.

You can plan some fun activities to do while you’re staying with your distant family members. If they live in a cute village, head to a quaint pub for some lunch or explore the surroundings. For those of you with city-dwelling family members, head into the city center for a day of shopping and entertainment.

Stay in a Cottage

Most of us live in modern properties and have never even set foot in an old-fashioned cottage before. For a unique vacation with your family, book a short stay in a cute Airbnb-style cottage in the nearest rural area.

Many Airbnb cottages come with all of the amenities and facilities you need while also providing a brand-new experience. You can explore the local village or town during the day and relax with your loved ones in the cozy cottage during the evenings.
